Other Scandinavian cities have done the same, although on a more limited scale. Copenhagen also has an excellent public transit system, made up of above-ground and underground light rail, buses, and commuter heavy rail. Meanwhile, a small but extremely vocal minority in Minneapolis-St. Paul screams to high heaven if anything is done to attack the dominance of the Almighty Car. The light rail line linking downtown Minneapolis with downtown St. Paul via the main campus of the University of Minnesota has opened recently, and the car potatoes are sneering that the trip takes longer than driving.
