Hi all. What seems often to be missing from the road-rail debates I've hear=
d (e.g. at Asian Development Bank) is how much more efficient train engines=
are than truck/bus, and the difference between steel wheels on tracks vs. =
rubber on asphalt... As I understand rail involves a much higher up-front i=
nvestment and saves vast amounts over the lifespan...as well of course as s=
aving so much in terms of traffic fatalities, space/land, and on environmen=
tal concerns.
