New Horizons: Multilingualism project

Hello all,

I want to let you know of a process begun earlier this year, but
gaining momentum and set to expand more: The Multilingualism project.
In essence, this is an effort to expand the language translations of
the worldcarfree.net website and to include more languages for the
monthly bulletin. This can eventually lead to more translations of
other things, but one step at a time.

NEWS: Sign-up is now available for 3 new bulletin languages:
Hungarian, Russian and Turkish. Note that translations will begin once
we have enough subscribers. Hopefully we can start these language
versions mid-fall.

To sign up, just send a blank e-mail to:

NEEDS:
1. Translators: take a look at the project page to get a feel for what
languages we still need help in. Most likely, if you want to help,
there will be fun things to do!
2. Spread the word: Can you help spread the word that information
about the carfree movement exists in your language in your country's
media, websites and blogs? Can you post links to sign-up for the
bulletin in any of the languages, but especially the new languages?
Send this info to your friends in those countries?
3. Tech help: Especially for adding non-Roman scripts to the website
(such as Cyrillic or Hindi) we need some tech support. Please let me
know if you can assist with this, I'll have some immediate (small)
jobs for you!

Expect updates on this. If you have any questions or offers of help or
just any ideas or thoughts on this, you can write me or also Markus
Heller <[email protected]>, we're both coordinating this.
