Hello,

Happy new year and best wishes for 2009!

I would like to introduce myself. I am Marko, a new volunteer from France at
World Carfree Network in Prague. I will have the pleasure to contribute to
the Carfree movement for one year as a volunteer.

I also would like to present you already a project that I would like to
begin this year. I was doing an internship for 7 months in Brussels for the
European Union and had the oportunity to meet some people at the Commission.
They told me that they are pleased to receive any contributions at any time
from NGOs. Therefore I think it could be a good idea to give more regular
contributions of our network to the Commission about transport issues.

We could for instance send you some questionnaries about actual issues
treated by the Commission and then make a joint paper with our positions
that we could send after approval of all participants to the Commission. In
this way we could begin to build regular exchanges with the Commission
(regular can mean for instance once every three months). I think it would be
good for the visibility of our network at the institutional side.

This project would concern especially our members from countries members of
the EU. I will be waiting for your reaction and we'll by our side begin to
think about the first paper we would send to you.

Best regards,

Marko
