An AGM held at TCC in Brussels would have been attended by people from 
outside Europe, I think much more so then one held at a two-day, 
shorter, or less formal event in the Czech Republic. Of course TCC-AGM 
ideally alternates from Europe to North America, and last year it was in 
Portland.

But now it seems that York people are discussing a 2010 bid which begs 
the question if Europe lost its chance to have a big conference this 
year, does it mean it has to wait again til 2011? Related to this, I am 
curious about how the process is going for (North American) proposals 
for TCC 2010.

Wherever it happens, an AGM ideally has at least a passive electronic 
audience from different locations. There was fortunately a plan for this 
to happen in Portland but as far I understand it was mostly 
unsuccessful. I am not sure what was planned or given consideration for 
the Brussels AGM. (One of the reasons I gave half of my support for 
TCC-AGM in Brussels was because it has venues designed for 
extra-Brussels participants). Given the complexity of this task, it 
seems optimistic to think it could happen for an AGM this year, 
especially if it takes place somewhere very unlikely to have existing 
infrastructure to support it, like Tabor, or in any case if funding for 
this is difficult.
