Dear all,

I would like to put one further idea on the table with regard to this year's
TCC. The City of Cape Town (South Africa) is currently implementing many
car-free and sustainable transport initiatives in the build-up to the
hosting of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Approximately R 3 billion (US$ 300
million) of project work in this area is currently underway.

Having broached the topic of hosting the TCC with the City and local
organisations, there would be potential interest to host a 2009 TCC event in
view of the event's relevance to the current initiatives. Of course, we
realise that it may not be a viable option for WCN, but we at least wanted
to put the option on the table.

The partners who could support the event include:

1. City of Cape Town

2. Bicycle Empowerment Network

3. Cape Town Partnership

4. Local universities.

Please let us know if this warrants a further discussion with WCN.

Best regards,

Lloyd
