Hi,

Wow, San Luis Potosi is lovely and may remind one - for obvious reasons 
- of a few places in California and the southwest of the USA with 
similar (sometimes superficial) architecture.

These and other urban areas in the USA are developing sustainable 
mobility plans but in many cases are reluctant to have carfree areas. So 
these examples from Mexico can inspire -- IF the right people - USA 
politicians, followed by journalists - go to a conference in SLP. To be 
frank, I think seeing great carfree areas like these in what is 
generally considered a less-developed country could create some 
interesting embarrassment for people in the USA.

Also, if enough suitable Latin American best practice examples are not 
available, people from the USA could provide some interesting ideas at 
the conference.

I am also curious how long is the bus journey between SLP and 
Guadalajara? Are there advantages to holding a conference in both 
places, first on then the other the same week? (I always ask about this, 
I know).

It seems that Europe lost its chance for the next full conference. (Or 
simply say York gets TCC 2011 -- and then they have lots of time for 
organising.) Latin America is under threat, as always: I am curious if 
the Tata Nano is inspiring both politicians and citizens to invite an 
invasion of said "solution". This car costs less than a high quality 
imported cargo bicycle.
