Re: Consultation on the future of transport in the EU

Hi all.

Is anyone else interested in helping us respond to this consultation, which closes on 30 September 2009?

The results of this will inform the next medium-term (10+ years) white paper on transport, expected early next year. The message is expected to be 'technology will save us', with very little on demand management and behavioural change.

The European Automotive Manufacturers Association has responded already, saying that "spending on road infrastructure has fallen to dangerously low levels" and "improved road infrastructure also offers significant potential for reducing CO2 by enhancing journey efficiency".

If you think should be challenged, please help us tell the EC what it should be doing to reduce CO2 emissions from transport, with all the co-benefits this could bring.
