I'd like to remind everyone that proposals to host the 2011 TCC conference should be submitted by the end of Wednesday 31 March 2010. If you want the conference to come to your town, here's your opportunity to make it happen...

TOWARDS CARFREE CITIES X CONFERENCE - Call for proposals

The successful TCC conference series is celebrating it's 10th year -
now it's your chance to make your city famous by creating The Carfree
Event of 2011.

The procedure for applying to host Towards Carfree Cities X conference
is simple. We request that you send a 2-4 page hosting proposal to
this discussion list by 31 March 2010 with the following information:
a. who you are; the organisation(s) you are with;
b. the resources, skills and time at your disposal (fundraising,
programme work, outreach, etc.);
c. which groups would be partners and other useful contacts you have;
d. why the conference should be held in your city;
e. what you would like to occur at the conference (overall theme, aims
and any programme details).

Before submitting your proposal, please consult our Conference
Organising Manual (http://www.worldcarfree.net/members/manual.php) and
Conference Hosting Agreement
(http://www.worldcarfree.net/members/contract.php). If you are unable
to access these documents in the members-only area of the website, or
have any other queries, please contact the WCN office via
[email protected] or phone/Skype - details below.

You may also wish to look at the conference archive at
http://www.worldcarfree.net/conference/archive.php.

Please note that this list is set to reply to author by default, so
please remember to change the address to
carfree_network-/[email protected] before you hit send. This allows
everyone to comment on the proposals as they come in.

The Steering Committee will then discuss the proposals, ask further
questions as necessary and make a final decision by the end of May at
the very latest.
