Dear carfree campaigners, Firstly, an update on the attack on Porto Alegre's critical mass: the car driver involved, Ricardo Neis, is now in the state prison awaiting trial for attempted murder. We will update our campaign page, which also has the contact details of key officials in Porto Alegre, with more news as soon as we get it. Thanks to the working group who offered their time to help with this. Other news and important dates: - The World Carfree News redesign poll closes on 24 March: visit http://www.worldcarfree.net/bulletin/designvote.php to pick your favourite design! - The Towards Carfree Cities X conference call for proposals closes on 31 March: please visit the TCC X conference website, then send your ideas to the Guadalajara team via [email protected] . - If you are interested in hosting the 2012 conference in your town, take a look at WCN's TCC conference page and send your 2-4 page proposals with all the required information to this mailing list by 3 April. We look forward to reading your applications! Don't forget to visit Carbusters Online for more news, views and analysis, including the latest on Fazilka's ecocabs and a review of bikesharing around the world. Best wishes, Simon.
