Probably the one small hope Carfree has is through environmental groups, but if they believe cars are essential they will view any proponents of Carfree as delusional. This is the key point. To the mainstream any proponent of Carfree is deemed crazy because they refuse to understand that the car is essential and to the proponent of Carfree the insistence that the car is essential is impervious to reason. And lets be honest here. For much of the built environment today the car is essential and the lone example of a car free individual is honorable but futile. If we cant get the environmental movement to understand we might as well give up ...
