****CIRCULATE THIS AROUND, THANX!!!**** EYFA IS LOOKING FOR THE WINTERMEETING 2005 HOSTING ORGANISATION!! Hello to all, EYFA is looking for a host collective/organisation for the Eyfa WinterMeeting 2005. The WinterMeeting 2005 shall take place around February -exact dates can be arranged at convenience- in the hosting place, consisting of a week of workshops and discussions for people related/interested to/in Eyfa and the local struggle/topic of the hosting collective. The WinterMeeting is usually prepared by seeting up an organisers group formed by the Eyfa crew and the hosting organisation, which will cooperate to carry on the venue under anti-capitalist, non- hierarchical, environmental and gender justice principles. The preparation of the WinterMeeting would ideally help the hosting organisation in improving their logistics resources, getting experience in organising international events, raise awareness on their local struggles and make amazing contacts with other grassroots-active collectives and individuals. All that enjoying and being part of the Eyfa platform-space! IMPORTANT: We need to find this host organisation-place before 20 March 2004!! (deadline to apply for fundings is April 1 and we should already mention the place of the venue in the application). IF YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE, KEEP READING!! What is the Eyfa Wintermeeting? The Eyfa WinterMeeting and Ecotopia are the two Eyfa annual gatherings. Ecotopia is the summer "sustainibility festival", an open gathering in a nature area with environmental facilities, horizontal group dynamics and extens daily programme with self-organised workshops on environmental and social justice issues. Whereas Ecotopia aims at wide reachout, put-in-practice and raise-awareness objectives, Wintermeeting concentrates on Eyfa strategy building and network coordination. The Wintermeeting aims at gathering the people connected -or wanting to be connected- within the Eyfa space- platform to evaluate current collaborations, set up priorities for eyfa strategy and build up future plans and actions using Eyfa space and resources. Besides, at the contents level, the wintermeeting wants to give major attention to a topic related to the local struggles, or a topic targeted by the host organisation as one of its priorities. For example, if the host organisation is busy planning action against the local nuclear plant, the wintermeeting would leave space-time for it (workshops, actions, strategy planning) and the toopic related to the wintermeeting could be about renewable energies. In any case, the point would be to connect the contents of the wintermeeting with a ongoing campaing that could be benefited and projected through the wintermeeting. Summarising, the wintermeeting would be a combination between eyfa strategy planning and network coordination plus work done around a topic related to the host organisation campaings. These two objectives should be carefully planned in the program so that there would be time for everything. This is why it is so important that the organisers group is set up, communicate fluently and build up the event considering all interests. What it involves to host the Wintermeeting? The hosting collective/organisation would be mainly responsible for arranging the venue logistics(sleeping places, showers, food, workshop spaces), and contributing to all other aspects of the preparation of the meeting as part of the organisers group. This organisers group, consisting of Eyfa crew + Host organisation would work out the contents and program(topics to be discussed, activities, methodologies) and dealing with participants travelling (visas, applications, travel reimbursement). Eyfa crew would specifically take care of the fundraising and the financial administration of the event. Of course we are flexible to adapt our ideas to local and cultural backgrounds, and the final distribution of tasks and responsibilities is to be worked out and agreed by consensus by the organisers group. So...what else do you need to know? Do not hesitate and contact us if you are interested or have any idea that could help us!! plaese write to [email protected] THANKS SO MUUUUUUUUCH!! Eyfa crew
