Yep, in my experience, when the cops turn very violent and repressive
against protesting citizens, sometimes the citizens fight back. And
often the systematic violence that corporate globalization commits
every day against the poor of the world often begets violence in
response.

Well, it depends, of course, on the circumstances. I don't know what
that police jeep was doing before the fire extinguisher came into
play; I do know that the cops were armed with semiautomatic weapons
and the protesters *weren't*.

At any rate, how do you defending shooting Carlo Guiliani *twice, in
the *head*, at very close range, and then running over his body in
that huge vehicle?!

I know that lots of reports are coming out of Genoa of police vehicles
trying to run over protesting citizens; for all we know this vehicle
had been doing just that.

That's nonsense. Cops aren't the only ones with the right to
self-defense, after all. You really have *no* idea what was happening
in Genoa, do you? Political protest isn't necessarily non-violent
after all.

That was their *sole* purpose? That's just factually, objectively
false.

	   Fortunately this time it wasn't a police officer

  billh99> the same rights you claim for yourselves).  Actions have
  billh99> consequences.

At least you concede, as is perfectly clear, that the *job* of the
paramilitaries was to *repress*, beat, brutalize, harass, torture,
threaten, and contain the protesters. That was *clearly* their job and
they did it well. So, tell me, what are the G-8 so afraid of?
