Folks,

I suppose this was inevitable, and I expect to see it in DC next
spring as well, but it's still rather scary.

Using its terrorism bill, it seems Canada will declare next year's G8
Summit area a 'special military zone', which of course will have dire
consequences for protesting the G8 meeting:

  Civil liberties would be curtailed within such a zone and any
  violence or attacks on the zone would be the equivalent of an
  assault on a military base, according to provisions of the proposed
  Public Security Act.
