I'm an active Christian myself, but what people of a certain viewpoint
misunderstand is that the Bible talks about deference, taking care of
the poor, healing the sick, and love as the supreme thing above all
these.

It's not even time to get down to other issues, whatever your beliefs on
them, until we're obedient to God in doing all the above.  For instance,
I don't see nationwide campaigns against lying, an equally offensive
thing in God's sight. That makes homophobic behavior, whether you think
homosexuality acceptable or not, discrimination, and wrong.

And as for America being a nation predisposed to love, I don't need to
comment on the absurdity of that notion.  Yes, I agree that there are
absolute rights and wrongs in our society, but I've never seen a people
more blind to its own wrongs.
