I agree, though: having a PhD isn't a big deal. court> Ya need to simply relax and get over it. Get over you having a PhD? Or it not being a big deal? If you're trying to suggest I "get over" Bush using a racist slur, sorry, but it's not the kind of thing I tend to slough off. court> Besides, if Pakistan were that great a country, it wouldn't court> have set up the Taliban or tolerated it for so many years. Ah, so your having a PhD has nothing to do with this at all. You've just got an axe to grind. court> The bottom line is that Pakistan is a brackish backwater of a court> country because the people there haven't taken enough court> responsibility to help themselves. Ah, is that it? I would have thought strugging with postcolonial legacies had *something* to do with it, if not being a cold war pawn. I don't agree about the 'brackish backwater' part; that's just stupid. But even if it were true, what has that to do with what Bush said? After all, there are millions of Pakistani American citizens who were the most likely to be offended by his racist slur, if for no other reason than that most Pakistanis don't know he said it. And, for what it's worth, don't wag your PhD in my face again. I'm so *not* impressed. Kendall Clark
