Great column. I'd hoped they would strike so that suburbanites could share in the pain of trying to distance themselves from the city, whereby most people of color reside. By moving so far away from their workplaces, they have degraded the environment by buying SUVs and cars that are notoriously fuel ineffcient. And they have put such a cultural and racial barrier between city and suburb that is so pernicious that racial profiling is accepted by most whites as a myth. And that criminality his the stronghold of people of color. But I digress. The workers deserved better from the deal. They got minor concessions from the MTA, but in this climate of anti-uinonism so pervasive in American Culture now, they got what they could get.

Too bad it couldn't be more. Commuter tax anyone?

See you in prayer through the work of justice and peace, for one cannot exist without the other.

Sincerely,

Paul A.Moon
