you will find the home page for the American Socialist/Socialist Union. This
consists of dozens of articles from the magazine edited by Bert Cochran and
Harry Braverman from 1954 to 1959, most of which appeared on Marxmail last
year. Among the contributors are W.E.B. Dubois, Harvey Swados, Joseph
Starobin, Isaac Deutscher and John Salter Jr., who is known nowadays as
Hunter Gray. You will also find commentary on the Cochranites written by
Michael Livingston who argues that Harry Braverman retained a Trotskyist
outlook even after leaving the SWP, myself and others. Highly recommended.

In our Gray Hole, the ghosts often dance in the junipers and sage, on the
game trails, in the tributary canyons with the thick red maples, and on the
high windy ridges -- and they dance from within the very essence of our own
inner being. They do this especially when the bright night moon shines down
on the clean white snow that covers the valley and its surroundings.  Then
