Note from Jyri: Hunter, Just a footnote with thanks to James H. Williams. Any real terrorist bent on doing harm would certainly not acquire his or her firearms through normal sales channels whether officially regulated or not, any more than ordinary criminals would. You don’t need a doctorate in political science to see that the watch list has a completely different function. I’m not quite converted yet and my views don’t really matter in this context, but I find this discussion about the NRA extremely interesting and instructive. I’ve sent links to it to some American friends of mine who tend towards a more or less fanatical anti-gun position. It might rile them up a bit, but it might also provoke some thought. Bests, Jyri
