Subject: [BearwWthoutBorders] Chokwe Lumumba, mayor of Jackson, dies at 66

I learned of this yesterday afternoon. Chokwe Lumumba was a radical -- a practical radical who focused on tangible things in the context of an altruistic vision. He had already accomplished much even before he became mayor of Jackson, MIssissippi, last July -- and was poised to accomplish much more.

The fight goes on.

Here are two links: One is America Al Jazeera and the other is an excellent interview with Chokwe -- published last spring in Against the Current/Solidarity.
