Do we witness the renewal of the Iran War which temporarily ended on 14 
June with the so-called Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)? Or is this 
rather a short-term escalation which will result in new rounds of 
negotiations? In order to answer this question, it is necessary to look 
at the results of the 40-days war (or the Ramadan War, as Iran often 
calls it) and the factors which resulted in the ceasefire.
