People of any religion can be intolerant. In the past there have been times when Protestant and Catholic Christians fought each other. Protestant monarchs in Europe persecuted Catholics and vice versa. Christians often persecuted Jews. During the era of colonialism, Christian colonisers often suppressed the religions of indigenous people in places such as north and south America and Australia. Some Muslims are intolerant. But Muslims should not be singled out as uniquely bad. Today in Western countries Muslims are often victims of persecution.
