He’s a member of David North’s international Trotskyist tendency and was arrested by the Ukrainian authorities following publication of his antiwar articles on the World Socialist Web Site (WSWS). https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2026/08/25/ogke-a25.html His defence campaign is supported by that wing of the Trotskyist movement which views the conflict as a proxy war between the NATO and Russia, including the Woods tendency associated with the In Defence of Marxism web site, Lutte Ouvriere in France, and Left Voice in the US.
