Hi!

I just read an article in the German c't (9/2010) about Micro Air
Vehicles (MAV) which are small flying robots. The article says that
there is an Open Source like community around this topic. Kits for
constructing such a thing start at 1000€ - which is low enough for a
decided hobbyist.
