Secret Service Says 'Kill Him' Allegation Unfounded

(FROM: The Times Leader) A Scranton, PA newspaper first reported it,
then it was picked up by ABC, The Associated Press, The Washington
Monthly and MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann. Finally, it was
repeated by Barack Obama in last night's presidential debate. Somebody
at a recent McCain-Palin rally, Obama said, shouted "kill him!" from
the audience. The only problem? The Secret Service said it didn't
happen. Now, that's not to say that some fired-up McCain supporters
haven't been shouting some unfortunate things, but there are ignorant
and classless people on both sides, such as the Barack Obama
supporters who wear "Sarah Palin is a Cunt" t-shirts or write in to
Web sites like The Daily Kos saying things like, "Sarah Palin's Down's
baby should have been aborted." To me, when Obama made this
cringe-worthy argument--nobody wants to hear shouts of "kill him!"--it
was a lot like him attacking McCain first by making the
assumption that, just maybe, McCain may say that he "doesn't look like
the other presidents" on the bills in our wallets. Evoking
emotion--the liberal currency--by touting something that hasn't
happened just rubs me the wrong way.
