Anti-Americanism and Blatant Antisemitism

...Saudi Arabia and Egypt, the supposed mainstays of moderation, pro-Western 
partnership and sources 'of peace initiatives' in the Middle East, are also the 
most venomous sources of not only anti-American pronouncements, but also of 
blatant anti-Semitism. Once again, these are not occasional and sparsely spread 
preachings by obscurantist fanatics, or frustrated and deprived individuals, 
but the systematic teachings crystallized by politicians clerics, 
professionals, intellectuals, opposition diehards and strategists, who shape 
public opinion, and are in turn shaped by it. How much more so in the Muslim 
fundamentalist writings, some of which we have perused before, and which in 
themselves have an impact on non-Muslim writings in this regard. At the heart 
of the Egyptian establishment and consensus, for example, is the weekly 
October-founded and directed by one of the most notorious anti-Semites in the 
Arab world, and a close associate of President Anwar Sadat: the Christian, Anis 
Mansur - which published the following opinions on Jews by a retired general, 
Hassan Sweilem. This is straight from the platform of the Hamas and the 
Protocols of the Elders of Zion:

     "Throughout history, since Emperor Justinian and down to Hitler, Europe's 
rulers had been trying to rid themselves of the acts of violence, barbarism, 
corruption, conflict mongering, and other deeds that Jews were, and are still, 
in the custom of performing in European societies - like, for example, their 
domination of monetary systems, treasuries, banks and commercial monopolies, 
which has caused widespread bankruptcy and economic destruction. They also 
diffuse drugs, prostitution, trade of women as sexual slaves, and alcohol. They 
have also monopolized the gold and precious stone trade, paid bribes to rulers 
and extorted them throughout history."

     "The Jews stood behind wars and internal strife, and that caused European 
rulers to expel them and kill them. For example, the Crusader armies, passing 
along the Rhine basin on their way east, massacred them and burned their houses 
as an act of repentance to their God. When the Crusaders entered Jerusalem, 
they collected the Jews in a synagogue and burned them alive. Their kin in 
Russia suffered a similar fate - They were expelled from France, England, 
Germany, Hungary, Belgium, Slovakia, Austria, Holland and finally from Spain, 
after they underwent the Inquisition trials for their conspiracy to penetrate 
Christian society like a Trojan horse - The Jewish conspiracy to take over 
Europe generated civil revolutions, wars and internal strife - The Cromwell 
revolution failed in 1649 England, following the Jewish conspiracy to drag 
England into several wars in Europe - Then the French Revolution broke out, 
which the Jews had planned, based on the first conference of their rabbis and 
interest-loaners that had been convened by the first Rothschild in 1773 in 
order to take over all the world resources - That 'conference' adopted 24 
Protocols, among which was the 'uprooting of the belief in God from the hearts 
of the Gentiles, distracting peoples by distributing among them literature of 
heresy and impurity, destruction of the family and the eradication of all 
morality'."

And so on and so forth ad nauseam, evincing the primitive, delusive and bigoted 
minds of the writers and of those who facilitated or allowed those utterings to 
gain 'respectability' by being published in a truly respectable magazine. The 
Jews were 'credited' in that article with putting Napoleon on the throne and 
then of causing his demise, of the 1775 war between England and the nascent 
United States of America, of establishing the Bank of America in 1881 with a 
view to controlling the wealth of the fledgling United States, and then of 
kindling the fire of the American Civil War. He told the story of how the 
Protocols were written by a 'German rabbi in 1770, financed by Rothschild', 
again in order to 'destroy all governments and religions, spread anarchy and 
revolutions, kindle wars, take over the wealth of nations, spread corruption 
among the youth, and control rulers by implanting in their governments Jewish 
ministers and advisers'. This sick mind goes on: the Jews ordered the start of 
World War I, and got the United States involved by spreading the rumour that an 
American ship had been sunk by the Germans. During that war, they prepared the 
ground for the rise of both communism and Nazism, as a follow-up to the work 
done by the Jews, Marx and Engels, half a century earlier, when they circulated 
the Communist Manifesto in London. Eventually, communism and Nazism took over 
power and came to confront each other, 'exactly as the Jews had planned'. World 
War II erupted due to the limitations imposed by the Allies on Germany in 
Versailles, by order of the Jews, thus inciting the Germans to revolution and 
bringing about the rise of Hitler. The Jews also brought about the fall of the 
Ottoman Empire and they were to reap the fruit thereof by concentrating all 
wealth in their hands.

The Jewish conspiracy was not the only irrational narrative that the writer was 
deluded enough to believe. He also found that the very roots of Zionism went 
back to that plot, as the Jews had already tried to build a settlement in Suez 
in 1903. Even Chaim Weizmann's credit for having extracted the Balfour 
Declaration from the British in 1917 due to his contribution as a chemist to 
the British war effort, the author attributes to 'secrets that Weizmann had 
stolen from Russian scientists'. The Europeans let the Jews go to Palestine, 
not because they had sympathy for them, but in order to 'rid themselves of the 
Jewish cancer that threatened to choke them on all sides', for they could not 
find any other country to absorb the 'poisoned human garbage called the Jews'.

Thus, Britain permitted the Jews to take over Palestinian lands by facilitating 
their attacks on Palestinians and by letting Jewish gangs receive weapons from 
Europe. It was the Jews who spread false rumours about Germany's defeat in 
World War I and ruined the German economy, spread anarchy in Germany by 
introducing communism, and even tried to murder Bismarck. Hitler wanted to 
collaborate with the British in thwarting the Jewish menace in Europe, but they 
outsmarted him when they appointed their agent, Winston Churchill, as the 
British Prime Minister. He even tells us that Hitler set up a special research 
institute to study the 'roots of Jewish corruption and rot', and how they could 
be cured of that disease so as to arrest their menace to humanity. But when he 
gave up on remedying their incurable diseases, he began to restrict and 
neutralize them.

Nor does this extraordinary material, which also included the claim that the 
Jews caused the economic crisis of the great depression in order to pave the 
way for World War II, fall on deaf ears in Egypt, where it is cultivated in a 
horrendously assiduous and repetitive fashion. It is replicated and repeated as 
mantras of conventional wisdom and documented history, and almost no decent 
intellectual, researcher, scientist, let alone politician or cleric, ever dare 
contradict or question the validity, rationale, veracity and authenticity of 
its details. Forged citations, made-up 'facts', fake sources, trumped-up 
accusations and all manner of calumniations, which in civilized countries 
result in prosecution and prison sentences, are current in the Muslim world, 
and not only among the fundamentalists. This is not only a matter of 
re-inventing history as a propaganda tool, but its propagators begin to believe 
in their own inventions, and others, who stand in awe before the military, 
religious or political authority of the fakers, copy from them without 
criticism and spread their venom worldwide.

For example, the calumniations we have just seen were concocted in Christian 
Europe over the centuries, then imported to the Middle East by Christian Arabs 
who wished to raise their stature in the eyes of their fellow Arabs, then 
copied by Muslim Brothers such as Sayyid Qut'b, then adopted, almost verbatim, 
by the Hamas Charter, which was published in early 1988, until they became 
common knowledge that needs neither corroboration nor reference. This is the 
reason that so many distorted, fanatical and obscure minds emerge in the Arab 
and Muslim world, where almost no one is interested in facts, and where young 
children are educated to believe in those fallacies.

The innocent, misguided and ignorant common people, who have no way to know, 
and are imbued, generation after generation, by this culture of lies and 
hatred, grow up, naturally, steeped in it and unlikely to be convinced 
otherwise. They make the human raw material for the Islamikaze.

Saudi clerics, who usually deride Arab nationalism and panArabism, insist that 
there is no way to defeat the 'monkeys and pigs', that is, the Jews, unless 
they embrace the road of jihad. They say that as long as the Palestinians and 
other Arabs fight for their fields and orchards, namely their material 
belongings and false nationalism, they will not achieve much, and therefore 
they ought to go back to their Islamic faith and fight in its name. They 
counsel their audiences to learn from the ways of the Jews:

     "They [the Arabs] are not prepared to confront the people of the Bible, the 
people of Israel, with an Islamic battle. While the Jews are escaping to their 
religion and find in it a source of unity and force, those [Arabs] are running 
away from their Islam - The Jews had fought continuously against our Prophet 
Muhammed - does anyone imagine that they would yield to people who still fight 
for their watermelons, land, mountains, wells, olive trees and orange groves? 
We have to cluster around those who are talking about the Islamization of the 
conflict~E If we said that the problem is Arab, there are among them 
Christians, Unbelievers and Socialists. What do all these have to do with 
Al-Aqsa Mosque?"

     "We have to realize that our defeats by the Jews are due to the fact that 
we did not let the Islamic umma confront them - These were defeats of Arab 
regimes which did not wave the banner of Islam - Should our lost [sons] revert 
to the truth, then the Jews shall return to their wretchedness and humiliation 
that they were condemned to [by the Holy Book]. Then, nothing can rescue the 
Jews, when the ignorant wake up, they will never see victory as long as they 
profess mistaken notions, heretic curricula, and humiliating peace."

     "The decisive solution of the conflict must be through Intifadah and jihad 
for Allah, not for Arab nationalism or for the Arab Homeland. The Islamic umma 
knows that that the Holy Land will not be resolved by, negotiating at the table 
with the Unbelievers. The only solution is to emulate the example of the 
Prophet in what he did to the Jews when they violated the agreements. The only 
solution lay with the words of the Prophet to the Jews: 'I brought slaughter 
upon you.' The solution with them is not peace and harmony, for jihad, not 
peace is the solution - It is secularism that surrendered to Judaism and 
Christianity, threw away its weapons and retreated, not Islam. For Islam has 
not been defeated by Judaism and Christianity in the ideological campaign that 
it has been prevented from engaging."

     "The Islamic umma is sitting with its enemy to discuss peace, agreements 
and treaties - The Jews themselves do not forget their hatreds, and they are 
spreading around their lie about the Holocaust and claim that Hitler killed 6 
million Jews in gas chambers. In spite of the fact that this is a pure lie, 
they turned it into an essential part of their pains and propagate it through 
their powerful propaganda machine so as to blackmail the nations of the world. 
They received huge compensations from the Germans, and now accuse all the 
Holocaust deniers as anti-Semites and incite the world against them - Jews have 
always bitten all the hands that were extended to them in peace, they have 
always violated all the agreements they signed, they betrayed the Prophet, they 
betrayed the Ottoman Empire and caused its demise, they violated all their 
contemporary treaties, from Oslo to Sharm al-Sheikh."

One is then puzzled and circumspect when Saudis propose peace to the Jews 
through the international media, while in the thick of their mosques and in 
their press they promote jihad, politicide, massacres and genocide against 
them, using the precedent of their Prophet, and vilify them to a degree that 
even should they change their mind, they would have a very difficult time in 
convincing their citizenry which has been systematically exposed to this venom, 
to suddenly alter course. Because as they see it, it is untenable that a 
'handful of monkeys and pigs should torture 1 billion Muslims; therefore, there 
is no escaping jihad and education to jihad'. 21 One of the mosque preachers 
concluded in no uncertain terms that:

     "This matter is historical, legal and ideological. It is impossible to make 
peace with the Jews under any circumstances, and no alliance or treaty can be 
signed with them, in spite of those among us who believe otherwise, and who are 
themselves Jewish like the Jews. We cannot hide from Jewish evil or wickedness. 
They are impure creatures and satanic scum. They are the helpers of Satan, and, 
together with other Unbelievers and polytheists, the true reason for the 
misfortunes of humanity. Satan will lead them to Hell and to their unfortunate 
end. Jews are our enemies and hatred towards them dwells in our heart. Jihad 
against them is our ritual - Muslims must educate their children to jihad. This 
is the benefit we can draw from this situation: educate our children to jihad 
and hatred towards the Jews, the Christians and the Unbelievers, and the 
kindling of the spirit of jihad in their souls. This is what we need now."

Incidentally, those preachers of peace-loving Saudi Arabia urge their people to 
cultivate courage in their children by telling them the stories of Muslim war 
heroes, including children who followed their fathers to the battlefields and 
'finished off the wounded enemies, and that is a proof of their courage'.

This is not education to terror, insist those preachers, because this is only 
the Qur'anic 'intimidation', which is permitted by Islamic law against 
hypocrites, seculars and rebels, and cannot be considered an aggression or 
injustice towards anyone, and is solely intended to 'elevate the Word of Allah 
and spread His religion'. In other words, anything sanctioned by the Qur'an is 
ipso facto 'kosher' and cannot be disputed or challenged on human, legal or 
moral grounds. Just use the right word, 'intimidation' instead of 'terror', and 
you have made it into the fold of the human race. The preacher clarifies this 
point:

     "What they call 'terror' in the media, is in fact jihad in the path of 
Allah. Jihad is the apogee of Islam, and some jurists regard it as the sixth 
Pillar of the faith. Jihad, whether it is invoked for protecting the lands of 
Islam such as Chechnya, the Philippines and Afghanistan, or for propagating the 
Faith, constitutes 'terror' for the enemies of Allah. While the mujtahid, sets 
out to gain martyrdom, or to achieve victory and bring back spoils of war, for 
the enemies of Allah he is a terrorist - Therefore, the Faithful must not use 
this term, for otherwise Allah's anger might be upon him on the Day of 
Judgement - Jihad is part of our faith, and the word 'terror' is only used to 
de-legitimize this blessed and powerful element of our faith."

     "The use of the term 'terror' [by the Unbelievers] is also calculated to 
discredit the important principle of 'al-wala' wal-bara' by which is meant 
support for other Believers, be they Arabs or otherwise. For there is no 
difference for us between an Arab or non-Arab Believer, and the non-Arab 
Believer is preferable to a corrupt Arab. People must know that they owe 
loyalty to other Believers, and hostility to the Infidels who are the enemies 
of Allah. We love whom Allah loves and hate whom Allah hates. Muslim blood is 
safeguarded, because Muslim blood is superior to the Infidel's blood. It is 
forbidden to kill a Muslim for a prize - These are some expressions of our 
principles, which are considered as terror by the Westerners."

And how does one determine those whom Allah hates? Of course the Qur'an, which 
is the word of God, and other sources of the faith, such as the Sunna of the 
Prophet, are the sole and ultimate guide. Thus, the Jews (and the Christians 
for that matter) who are labelled as enemies of Allah cannot extricate 
themselves from that sealed fate, unless they embrace Islam, and until then 
jihad must be waged against them by 'intimidation', never mind that others see 
that as 'terror'. At any rate, that act is considered a legal, even compulsory, 
jihad, which by definition leads to martyrdom, and is in any case the 
quintessence of Islam, in the eyes of the Saudi (and other) fundamentalists. 
The only remaining question, once the enemies of Allah have been identified, is 
how and to what extent to discredit and vilify those enemies of Allah so as to 
make them a legitimate target for the Believers. In this regard, a mix of 
secular, historical, 'logical', religious, analogical, or simple outbursts of 
atavistic and unexplained hatred are mobilized from the vast arsenal of Arab 
and Islamic anti-Semitism to crystallize such a despicable picture of the Jews, 
Zionists and Israel as to make them 'attractive', indeed irresistible, targets 
for the Muslim fundamentalist wrath and ingrained desire for vengeance. It 
suffices to follow the outpouring of rage by millions of Muslim demonstrators 
in the streets of all Arab and Western capitals following the eruption of the 
Intifadah of 2000, with the attendant burning of Israeli flags and local Jewish 
synagogues, the abuses hurled at Israel, Jews and Zionists during those violent 
demonstrations and on the hundreds of Muslim internet sites, and the utter 
disrespect they evince towards Jewish values and Holy Places, to realize the 
depth of that hatred, which culminated in Durban during the summer of 2001.

While I don't use a standard blog (weblog software) mostly because I've been 
doing this too long - having been there with Ike when the precursor to the 
Internet, Arpanet got started and every step of the way since, I can't get into 
all the many fads over the years (now it is social networking), but I have been 
an observer and participant in events which shape the world since my time with 
NSA and with Army Security and as a voice security cryptologist in the White 
House for the President, and the War Room at the Pentagon for the Chairman of 
the Chiefs of Staff plus two wars. You could say this site is one of the better 
kept secrets [grin] on the InterNUT. You are invited back as often as you would 
like to see what I and others, I trust, may be saying.
