In New Haven, W.Va., the Mountaineer Power Plant is using a complicated chemical process to capture about 1.5 percent of the carbon dioxide it produces. The gas is cooled to a liquid at a pressure of about 95 atmospheres and pumped 2,375 meters down to a sandstone formation, where it is meant to remain indefinitely. The objective is to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide being added to the atmosphere from the coal burning at the plant.
This certainly seems to be doing it the hard way. Extracting just this 1.5 percent of the CO2 from the plant's flue requires a $100 million investment, and whether the gas will remain underground or bubble to the surface is in question.

The Ma'man Allah (Mamilla) Cemetery was the oldest Muslim cemetery in Jerusalem with graves dating back to the seventh century, comprised of 33 acres and tens of thousands of graves. After 1948 the Israeli ministry that maintained the site reassured world leaders that this important religious site would be cared for in perpetuity.
Less than fifteen years later, in the 1960s a park was built in part of the cemetery and a parking lot covered another part. These were followed by a school, football field, underground parking garage, and road. Electrical wires were laid in other sections.

Record Summer Night Temperatures?

The article shows you (literally with a couple of photos) how the warmers get these astoundingly warmer record nighttime temperatures. The warmers, as usual, are hollering about how this is more proof-positive we have global warming.
Just look at the photos to see what I am laughing about. You can easily see that they “conveniently” place the sensors around paved areas that retain heat long after the sun has gone down and thus raise the nighttime temperatures. How tricky indeed. They also like to place them near air conditioning exhausts and at the end of airport runways subjected to heat from jet engine exhausts day and night. I even saw a photo of one in California mounted on a fireplace chimney with the sensor above the flue.

Mideast officials fly to US as talks crisis looms

Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas, currently in Amman, was also to fly to New York on Sunday evening for the annual sitting, with efforts under way to arrange a meeting with US President Barack Obama, a senior Palestinian official told AFP.
"There are also preparations for a meeting between (Israeli premier Benjamin) Netanyahu, Obama and Abbas," he said. "There is an expectation that they will meet."
Netanyahu's office said he had no plans to fly to the United States this week, and would not say whether he would meet Abbas before the settlements freeze expires later this month.

OK, We've got Abbas, Peres, and Barak coming to the US, but not Netanyahu.
By not showing up, Netanyahu has just P***ed in Obama's Gate's, Abbas' and Clinton's faces, collectively, and told them it's raining.
Now the big question is, what is is the US going to do about it?!? My bet would be, absolutely nothing. Obama will still sign the checks for the billions every year Israel gets, and make not a whimper about getting absolutely nothing in return.
The talks will fail, predictably, East Jerusalem and the West Bank will be forcibly annexed by Israel, and Palestinians will be expelled to the hell which is Gaza.

Genetically Modified (GM) food is definitely not what it appears to be.
Following is a review of F. William Engdahl’s new book Seeds of Destruction: The Hidden Agenda of Genetic Manipulation:
The last three or four years have seen a number of books, documentaries and articles on the dangers of Genetically Modified (GM) seeds. Majority has focused on adverse health and environmental impact; almost none on the geo-politics of GM seeds, and particularly seeds as a weapon of mass destruction. Engdahl has addressed this issue but the crop seed is one of the many “Seeds of Destruction” in this book.
