NJU JORK : Could the Knicks be on the verge of becoming relevant again?  
Their schedule hasn't been the most difficult, but they have still won seven  
straight with a101-95 win over the Wizards in Washington. Amar'e Stoudemire 
had  36 points -- his seventh straight 30-point game -- and 10 rebounds. He 
is the  first Knick since Willie Naulls in 1962 to have seven straight 
30-point games.  the Knicks have won seven straight for the first time since 
2000--01. Their  eight-game road winning streak is the second-longest in team 
history. They are  now 15-9 and firmly entrenched in second place in the 
Atlantic Division. (After  all, they're the only team besides the Celtics over 
.500. T he next few games  will tell people more about the Knicks -- they will 
face Denver, Boston and then  Miami at home.
 
On the ice, the Devils wasted Martni Brodeur's return with a 3-2 loss in  
Ottawa. (Two local teams played Friday, and both played in a nation's 
capital.)  Brodeur, who played for the first time since an elbow injury forced him 
to miss  eight games, made 26 saves but also let in three goals. The Devils, 
losers of  four straight, got goals from Patrik Elias and Dainius
