WASHINGTON D.C.: Ne takimin e paralajmeruar te zhvilluar me dt. 10 Mars 
2011 me Dr. Lee  Edwards,kryetari i “Fondacioni Memorialit te Viktimave te 
Komunizmit”, moren  pjese zoterinjte Grigor Nosi, Lirim Mezini dhe Mustafa 
Xhepa, drejtore te Bordit  Drejtues te Organizates “Shtepia e Lirise  
Shqiptaro-Amerikane”. 
Ne fjalen e hapjes se takimit Dr. Edwards pershendeti  fillimin e punes se 
kesaj organizate anti-komuniste me qender ne Washington DC,  si edhe 
vleresoi dhe inkurajoi aktivitetin e saj ne pergjithesi , e ne vecanti  promovimin 
e librit “Fabrikimi I vdekjes”  te autorit z. B. Blloshmi. Duke marre 
kopjen qe iu dhurua, ai premtoi se  kete rast te tmerreshem tipik te vrasjes se 
nje poeti te ri nga komunistet  shqiptare do t’i a beje te njohur shume 
anetareve te senatit dhe kongresit  amerikan. 
Dr. Edwards shprehu gatishmerine dhe vullnetin e tij  per te ndihmuar 
organizaten “Shtepia e LIrise Shqiptaro-Amerikane” me te gjitha  mundesite qe ka 
Fondacioni qe ai drejton, si edhe me influencen qe ai ka te  drejtuesit e 
fondacionit “The Heritage Foundation”, nje nga me te medhenjte e  spektrit 
te djathte ne Amerike. 
Me tej Dr. Edwards siguroi bashkebiseduesit se  Amerika eshte 
anti-komuniste dhe se aktiviteti i organizates sone eshte ne  unison te plotet me vijen 
politike te qeverise amerikane si e vetmja  superfuqi  e botes dhe fituesja e 
 luftes se ftohte. Zoti Edwards premtoi se me njohjet qe ai ka ne 
administraten  amerikane do te beje te njohur prane asaj administrate misionin e 
organizates  sone. 
Nga ana e organizates “Shtepia e Lirise  Shqiptaro-Amerikane” foli Z. 
Mustafa Xhepa, i cili beri nje pershkrim te  vizionit dhe misionit te 
organizates, si edhe e informoi Z. Edwards me  aktivitetet ne vazhdim, ku gjeti edhe 
mbeshtetjen e ketij te fundit per te qene  i perfshire ne keto aktivitete. 
Me pas fjalen e mori Z. Lirim Mezini, i cili beri nje  pershkrim te 
shkurter te situates, duke u perqendruar kryesisht ne menyren si  zbatohen  ne 
Shqiperi ligjet mbi  vleresimin dhe demshperblimin e te denuarve politike, si 
edhe te kthimit dhe  kompensimit te pronave. Edhe lidhur me keto dy ceshtje te 
medha Dr. Edwards  shprehu interes te vecante. 
Ne mbyllje te takimit Z. Grigor Nosi falenderoi Dr.  Edwards per mikpritjen 
dhe angazhimine tij ne ndihme te ceshtjes se organizates  sone. I gjithe 
takimi u zhvillua ne nje fryme teper  miqesore.

United States Honors Victims of  Communism in Washington 
At the  dedication today of a memorial to people who lost their lives 
fighting communist  oppression worldwide, President Bush  compared the fight 
against radical Islam to the Cold War battle against  totalitarian communism. 
"Like the communists, the terrorists and radicals who  have attacked our 
nation are followers of a murderous ideology that despises  freedom, crushes all 
dissent, has expansionist ambitions and pursues  totalitarian aims" he said 
at the ceremony.

More than 400 people  attended the dedication of the memorial, which was 
held in the intersection  of Massachusetts Ave.,  New Jersey Ave. and G  
Street. Ambassador Simonyi  and Ms. Ibolya Dávid, president of the MDF party 
(Hungarian Democratic Forum),  were representing Hungary at the ceremony.  
Hungarian born Congressman Tom Lantos (D-CA), Chairman of the House  
Committee on Foreign Affairs, said the lessons of the Cold War are and should  
remain a part of present-day American life. "We are an  ahistorical society," 
Lantos observed in the keynote speech to dedicate the  Victims of Communism 
memorial near the U.S. Capitol grounds. "That is why this  monument is so 
significant to the upcoming generations. (...) The wave of the  future is not 
godless communism, it is not distorted Islamic fascism, but it is  free and 
open and democratic societies." Communism was not the only  monstrous 
phenomenon determined to destroy free and open societies," he noted.  "It was my 
privilege to fight against Nazism and it was my privilege to fight  against 
Communism. And it is now my privilege to fight against Islamist  terrorism 
determined to take us back 13 centuries." Tom Lantos added, "Everyone  who has 
tasted communism, from Albania to Estonia, knows that without the  United  
States this existential struggle would have  been lost."

The memorial to the  victims of communism is a bronze "Goddess of 
Democracy" statue of a woman  holding a lantern with both hands. It was built with 
$950,000 in private  funds, including donations from the Czech Republic, 
Lithuania, Georgia and  Taiwan. The erection of the Victims of Communism Memorial 
would not  have been possible without the generous financial and political 
support of the  Hungarian American community over many years.
