Programmed instruction/EduBalony

It is sad but true that Skinner's 'programmed learning' failed of general
acceptance and use.  There are at least four possible reasons for this failure.

Perhaps the failure derived from the low quality of specific programs or
its applications to inappropriate subject matter.  (Some, I recall were
deadly dull, some didn't have enough repetition, and so on.)

Perhaps the necessarily close collaboration of the behavior analyst and the
individual expert in the field for which the program is to be developed
does not or can not work.

Perhaps PT and DI are more fun!

Perhaps behavior analysts consider themselves such 'cutting-edge' and
'innovative' scientists that we avoid the full development of the
possibilities of a new method.

Who knows?
