It depends if they charge admission. There are many local swimming pools,
community groups, etc. that show free movies in the summer. Our pool does a
'swim in' movie.

I believe this type of movie showing is in the category of "I'm playing the
movie for my friends" kind of thing.  Even if it's for 100 friends that you
just met tonight.

A movie theatre owning friend of mine had (what sounded like a great idea)
of playing videos for free to the school kids in the summer, with the hope
that they would bring plenty of snack bar money. The film buyer quickly
snuffed that idea saying that in technicality Jim was correct in that he
wasn't charging admission, but he would soon find that the film companies
wouldn't serve him . . .
