I rode a ss mtb in 2009 and put in a little over 3000 km on it. The biggest 
thing I had to learn was to take every opportunity to accelerate which makes 
climbing much easier.

I converted the bike to 9 speed in 2010 as my 67 year old knees suffered too 
much!
