Yesterday I did a 47-mile ride with the temperature in the 50's 
(10-15C).  The highlight was 22 miles in the Umpqua river canyon with no 
traffic thanks to a big TV sport/entertainment/advertising event.

As usual the Pacific Northwest's winter is the opposite of what the rest 
of North America gets.  The Oregon Cascades have much less than normal 
snowpack even though this winter was predicted to be a La Niňa.
