I'm using this unit for my cross country trip so I can update my blog in
areas that wifi is hard to find. It works really well although 3G cell
service isn't as fast as broadband. Verizon does require a contract.
Perhaps you are already with Verizon? There is another unit through Virgin
mobile that doesn't require a contract and is $40.00 for 5G. Virgin
couldn't tell me what cell provider they use and having access was more
important to me than price. I'm using the 5G plan which is $60/month. I'm
finding that 5G isn't as much as I thought and continue to use wifi hotspots
whenever I can. It's very light weight and easy to use.
