while i admire the enthusiasm, i don't think i'd want to be counting on 
pushing a bike with a trailer uphill in the dirt,... especially if your 
trailer is the 2-wheeled type, as it might not even be possible to get 
both hands on the bars and stretch out to push since your feet might be 
interfering with the trailer wheels.

     having played a bunch on dirt (J**ps, bikes, and motorcycles), i 
think that the idea of trying to maintain traction with your feet while 
pushing your rig on a dirt road that's too steep to ride with your 
set-up probably isn't the best. if it's too steep to ride, something's 
wrong; you're overloaded, underpowered, under-geared, in the wrong 
place, or some combination of those factors (and possibly others).

     going back to the trailer, the idea of taking a 2-wheeled trailer 
on a dirt road doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun to me, either. at 
the best, the trailer wheels are going to be tracking 2 completely 
different lines than the bicycle wheels, meaning you'd be having to 
watch not one or 2 lines, but at least 3 and sometimes 4. (even in the 
J**p i typically only have to watch 2 wheel-tracks most of the time,...)

     frankly, i'm with Steve on this; i don't find it fun to travel by 
bicycle with very much weight. if i had so much stuff that i needed to 
pull a trailer, i'd probably already be over the line towards a 
miserable experience, but especially wouldn't attempt it in the dirt 
with any trailer that had more than one wheel. (i've dragged a Bob/Yak 
trailer around and it's do-able, but whether or not it's "fun" is arguable.)
