First ride of 2011

The sun came out and the temperature hit 47 F this weekend; ice melted and
the neighbors' roofs (I can't see my own) were showing shingles instead of
snow. I took the mountain bike off its hook -- it's the only one with
fenders and pumped up the tires, stepped on the pedal and swung my leg over
the saddle and got my first dozen miles of the year. Met two other bikes on
the road, and their riders were grinning as widely as I was.
