Re: first aid kit

Make sure you have some anti-histamine and you might look at the brave-soldier kits.  That cost too much, but other than that are very nice.

This is what the BS has in it:
Anieseptic -Bacitracin Zinc
4x3 dressing
3x3 sponge (gauze)
6" strectch net burn gauze (this stuff is great for road rash)
4x2 bandages
1x3 bandages
Butterfly closure
Betadine pads
Advil

Other than bug bites, road rash and small cuts, and burns (sun too) you are likely to go to the hospital. and you like only need enough for one, or two applications as you will be able to ride to a pharmacy.

I would add mole skin and some sort of mule slave, chamois cream or just petroleum jelly for skin care: boils and the like.
