With my Lumix Point and shoot I usually attach a longer cord to the wrist strap and put it around my neck and into my shirt pocket. I wear shirts that have 2 front pockets (Railriders) for my DSLR I wrap it with Domke 19-Inch Protective Wrap and put it in the trunk bag on my trike. I'm thinking of a harness type of holder that would be good for cycling. I'd prefer to not have to dig thru my bar bag. Normal camera straps let the camera bang around on the top tube.
