Miles, thank you for explaining the other side. Unfortunately many of the points you used really aren't my situation. I'm not looking for expensive high end parts that could result in an expensive run-around situation. It was a set of Tektro cantis, which sell for $40. Something they could easily carry, and would sell no problem if I didn't actually buy it. But every time I'm looking for something that I assume an LBS would probably want to stock, they just don't have it, and I end up going online. An LBS that doesn't sell any decent cantis just seems wrong to me. Fortunately for me, it's not my problem. I can always go online and find parts cheaper. One of the many reasons why I love biking is that I find it generally a very inexpensive thing to do considering the time I spend doing it. I'd love to support the local businesses, but if they want me to spend my $$$ with them, then they might want to stock a few extra things. I have no loss by going elsewhere, but they do from me going elsewhere.
