somehow I relate to this guy the same as if he was just another bicycle tourer.

Love the idea of travel by wagon, with the one exception being the
dangers on the road.

I imagine one could usually find safe backroads, but they move so
slowly and take up so much of the road.

I wonder if making a narrower waggon would improve saftey.

I wonder if in the future we'll have long distance horse and wagon or
horse races and touring.  I could see one riding the entire great
divide by back road from Banff to Mexico, or perhaps all the way from
Nova Scotia to the Yukon. That would be a horse tour.

While he will recover and I think you can assume that to him the stuff
he carried was probably just "stuff" I think the saddest part is the
lose of the horses.

p.s. anyone see the documentary about the guy who drove his lawn
tractor long distance to visit his brother in another state? Forgot
the name, was perhaps five years ago.
