Don't think you can go wrong with the LHT if it's in good condition and has
been well cared for.
I love that red Cannondale but not sure I would like down bar shifters now
that I'm use to more convenient placement.
The other Cannondale looks sweet too but I'm not a lover of auctions.
Cannondales are very well made. I don't think you need fear aluminum. It's
plenty strong, IMHO.
Good luck. Sounds like a nice adventure you have planned. Please keep us all
