its a wire that goes from the big spade connector that floats about near 
the battery to the positive terminal of the battery with an inline fuse. 
It basically means that a load of excess wiring to the fuse box and back 
and several connections are eliminiated.  I think...

It doesn't take much of a voltage drop to stuff things up so the slight 
drop that you get normally can be enough.
