This sounds so cool Tor. It's very much in a similar vein to the Spa gauges I and others have got. The backlit idea works very well in practice and you are right that the screen printed lettering is irrelevant once you've used the unit for more than 20 minutes. But, the Spa gauges assist you in giving the units of measurement on the LCD itself, therefore giving you a clue as to what the numbers relate to. I'm not sure this is possible given the limitations of generic LCD's (theirs are all made specially) but again I think it would be irrelevant once you've acclimatised to the unit. I think this is fantastic.
