Sample frequencies are - 5Hz for Speed, Revs and Oil pressure - 1Hz for the rest, ie water temp, oil temp, inlet temp, battery I'm thinking of going 10Hz for speed and revs, but I can't see the point in sampling the others more often. Resolution is: - Revs: 1Hz - Speed: 1kph/mph - Temps: 1C/F - Pressure: 0.03bar/ 0.43psi - Battery: 0.1V The resolution can be way better on most but memory will suffer. > -- how long can recording last? 41 minutes at current sampling/resolution. > -- what's the connection to the PC? Not at the moment, but if there's demand for it I can't see why not. > -- can the laptimer be triggered by a button (IR beacons being banned at > most trackdays)? Yes! At last someone who thinks this is a valid point... In fact this is currently the only trigger, but I'm looking into a receiver. If I go for one of the most common frequencies I don't have to make a sender. > And I've got a decent digital camera... I will definitely take some new photos tomorrow. Making a parser with the flexibility that your asking for is simply too much work, and without going to a near source code level you still have limitations. Another reason is that microcontroller memory is very limited, and a parser would just eat too much of it. I would rather put that effort into making the features. Just let me know, if it's a good idea then I'll likely put it in.
