Roger,
Am on digest - sorry for slow reply and perhaps any repeated info... My
comments are based on experience with IACV on Toyota engines - hopefully it
helps.

This sounds like an inlet manifold leak to me (like I have at the moment!).
The ECU with lambda sensor should compensate and give you the correct
mixture. Blipping throttle and the engine trying to die sounds like a
definite mixture problem though.

Without the IACV connected on my engine, it idles around 1700 rpm. Plug it
in and it brings the revs down to 800-1000 within 3 or 4 seconds. Also, the
TPS incorrectly set will result in a higher idle speed (say 1300 rpm). I
have no experience with Emerald, so cannot comment, although some after
market EFI setups do not use IACV, and others do.

Hope you get it sorted soon.

Completely off this topic and onto Orange coloured cars...... Dave Mackie's
PRB/Birkin Busa not only looks good, goes well, it is also VERY nicely put
together - a credit to Dave and Tim. It also has a not quite identical twin
(Tim's car) going through Aussie rego.

Regards, Richard
