RE: Ford xf help needed

Right , here is my bit

The 711M6015OA should really end with BA ( closer inspection may just show
upthe middle - in the O which will make it a B IYSWIM
This no is the Ford part no

That will mean it is a 711M block which is reffered to in the book that
Rupert refers to as opposed to the earlier 701 x-flow block. The BA states
that it is 1600 as opposed to AA which was for the 1300 block
The CSxxxx indicates the casting date which means it is a March 1982 casting
The 711M block was succeeded by the 831C block of the last Cortinas/early
Sierras , The South African blocks (last of the X-flows ) had a 831CxxxxAX
part no
I have a very good AX block under my workbench- original bore with virtually
no ridge- that is now redundant to to the pending Zetec upgrade- any takers?
