Hi Johnty, On a post 1990~ish Caterham, the sixth character of the chassis number or VIN will tell you whether it's a kit or a factory built car, in addition, doesn't the V5 have the phrase "built from a kit of new parts supplied my manufacturer" or something similar? Your chassis number (if I've got it right) is SDKRDKCR6V0020641, it's that second 'K' that shows it's kit built, the following 'C' shows that it was a CKD kit, and the R6 says 1.6 K. There's a page on chassis numbers in the faq, in particular, for post 1990 cars: http://7faq.com/owbase/ow.asp?ChassisNumbers#h10 Then there's Simon Lambert's bit on the faq MOT and Emissions page: http://7faq.com/owbase/ow.asp?EmissionsAndTheMOT%5FTest, check out the July 2003 update. And the MOT testers' handbook at: http://www.motuk.co.uk/manual/how_to_use_page_one.htm, see para 3 on the first used date. Hope this helps, best of luck Barry ------------------------------------------------- To manage your subscription options visit :- http://mailman.se7ens.net/mailman/listinfo/sevens
