Yeah, but I don't think they do anything magical in the 'eject' direction like they do in the 'ingest'. It's hard to see how they're anything better than pretty-shaped holes, and a slanted pipe end, cut flush with the skin, would be no better or worse. If your chap has data, I'd be interested to see it.
