I would suggest taking the carbs off and rejetting the bike versus hoping
the air filter will work better with less air. I'm willing to guess the guy
never rejetted when he added the filter and yosh combo, putting the OEM
filter probably won't solve the problem either. What I'm saying is you don't
need to duct tape it. Been there, done that. take the carbs out and follow
Beth's advice about the needle (stock or dynojet) if stock -check out tip
and tricks and get the $10 solution, if Dynojet, check the website for the
settings or call for the right setting.
The K&N is a decent filter, I recall when I used it people complained about
it than too, it's works when setup on the bike correctly will work fine for
you. If you REALLY want the OEM go for it but in the end I kept the K&N and
loved the way it worked.
Rejet is the answer
If you need some guidance on that, let me know.
