interesting that the mode of failure is a short - the more of those you short out in a string, the more you're likeley to overdrive the remaining ones ... i, too, would have suspected some sequencing or strobing, but then, that would be an interesting/useful product - like increase the on duty cycle or having them flash on/off when the brake's depressed, moving arrows in the direction of the turn signal, smiley face when scraping pegs or perhaps some text, graphics, or other facial or hand gestures, as needed. you could also exchange info with other riders like a serial IR) with your contact info. this, all of course, on a relatively uneventful ride, and as automated as possible. perhaps i should start a cottage industry - or is someone else already doing this? ferenc Chris Weiss <[email protected]> wrote: Yeah, I was thinking maybe there was some circuitry involved (like maybe they did some kind of sequencing or other bling bling), but I got a chance to look at the back of the boards, they're pretty straightforward, just a run of LEDs wired in series.
